Goscor Lift Truck Company (GLTC), part of the Goscor Group, is supplying JSE-listed food and beverage group Clover’s City Deep facility in Johannesburg with new industrial warehouse equipment.

The new equipment comprises four Crown ESR 5260 2.0 reach trucks, two Doosan D25S-5 counterbalance forklifts, and five Crown SCT 6040 1.8 electric counterbalance forklifts. The new machines will be used to move pallets in and around the facility quickly, safely, and cost-effectively.

Clover City Deep Maintenance Manager Petrus Lubbe explains that the 24 000 mCity Deep facility houses around 9 000 pallets of chilled products, with the average pallet holding about 0.7 t of product, and the largest pallet weighing up to 1 t.

Lubbe was first introduced to GLTC when he joined Clover City Deep in 2008. Clover opted for its equipment not only due to the fact that it is perfect for use in a cold-storage environment, but that GLTC always has technicians on standby to provide assistance whenever required. Clover City Deep already deploys five three-wheelers and six high-reach machines, as well as five powered pallet trucks.

GLTC Regional Sales Manager Werner Stegmann elaborates that Goscor has formed part of Clover’s equipment fleet for a considerable period to date. “The low maintenance and ease of service makes them ideal for the facility, which is a fast-paced and dynamic environment that requires robust equipment offering optimal productivity.”

In addition, the Clover City Deep facility also utilises a Tennant sweeper-scrubber from group sister company Goscor Cleaning Equipment for cleaning purposes and to maintain hygiene standards.
