GLTC Branches Into Africa

GLTC is branching out to neighbouring countries and expanding their global footprint. Although challenging, due to political and economic instability, GLTC are powering through and have successfully signed up new dealers in Zimbabwe, Namibia, Swaziland and Botswana.
“Focusing on the full product range there is great opportunity to develop our brands and service the African market” says Randhir Haripersad, GM of Goscor Africa. “Despite the drop in market share, there is a high-demand for our product range and with an in-depth understanding of the African market, we have tailored solutions for each country” continued Randhir.
All the new dealers took some time and visited GLTC’s head office in Johannesburg to attend training and get a clearer understanding of GLTC business processes and standards. Namibian based Barex also held an official launch on the 7th of June in Windhoek. Both GLTC and Barex staff worked extremely hard to have a successful launch. The Deputy Minister of Namibia was the guest speaker for the evening while Frans van den Heever and Ritesh Ramjattan from GLTC conducted live machine demonstrations. The launch was attended by senior buyers and decision makers in the public and private sector and great feedback was received all round.
Darryl Shafto, GLTC MD, says that for various reasons his company has not done as well as it should have in Namibia over the past few years and that changes were required. A change of personnel was definitely needed and we are sure that the Barex team will do what is necessary to fulfil the enormous potential in Namibia.
This is just the start for GLTC and future prospects include Mauritius, Madagascar and East Africa.
