Barry Owen
Chief Executive Officer, Goscor Group
Barry joined the Goscor Group in March 2017 as the head of the Goscor Earthmoving Equipment business. Soon after this, he was tasked with full responsibility of several additional Goscor businesses, including Goscor Cleaning Equipment, Goscor Compressed Air and Goscor Power Products. Barry’s background is vast and diversified. He began his career on the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors, before spending time in several other sectors, including steel, chemicals, franchising, wholesaling and management consulting. Apart from working in Africa, he has worked on projects and in businesses in most other continents of the world, including Europe, Asia, North America, South America and Australasia.
Barry holds an MBA degree, as well as a BSc (Medicine) Honours degree and a BSc cum laude degree in Biochemistry. He is entrepreneurial by nature and, in his spare time, he is a keen mountain biker and golfer, and an avid fan of any South African national team! He is 53 years old and is married to Debby. They live in Johannesburg and have three grown-up boys.

Cecil Oates
Managing Director, Goscor Lift Trucks
Boasting vast experience in leadership roles both in South Africa and abroad, Cecil is well-placed to steer the Goscor Lift Trucks business to new heights. A mechanical engineering technologist by profession, Cecil also holds an MBA from Bond University.
He joined GLTC from Babcock in early 2020, where he held several leadership positions across several business disciplines, including engineering, business development and transport – for 14 years of his career. Prior to that, Cecil worked for APV, where he rose through the ranks to become MD of the company’s South African business, before he joined APV’s global team in Germany.
In some of these roles, Cecil displayed undisputed competence in turning unprofitable businesses into cash cows, and setting them on a sustainable growth path – an attribute that made him the perfect fit for the GLTC managing directorship.
Away from work, Cecil enjoys spending time with his family and friends. His great passion for motorsport is exhibited by his support for his sons’ involvement in the one-make VW Polo GTi Cup Championship. Both sons race for the Total Excellium team – always keeping him at full throttle.

Francois Otto
Group Financial Director, Goscor Group
Francois holds a B Compt degree from Unisa and completed his articles at a medium-sized Audit Firm in Cape Town.
He joined an Industrial Equipment group in December 1999 as Financial Manager in Cape Town and relocated to Johannesburg during 2002 for the same group where he fulfilled Financial Manager roles locally and in the UK for a total of 10 years.
Francois joined the Goscor Group in January 2010 as the Group Financial Manager.
