Multilayer Trading, well-known warehouse and distribution company, specialising in the textile industry, has taken delivery of eight new Doosan diesel forklifts from Goscor Lift Truck Company (GLTC).
Multilayer financial manager Cameron Doyle says that his company researched thoroughly the forklift market before making its decision. “It boiled down to Goscor and another leading brand with very prominent international recognition. We chose Goscor because its service and support is world class, it had unique solutions for our particular situation and the Doosan product is as good as the best,” says Doyle.
He adds that he is very satisfied with the performance of the trucks and with the FMX Fleet Management System, which has really added value to the efficiency of the process. “It continuously keeps us in touch with the performance of the vehicles and their operators and has significantly helped improve productivity. I would recommend this system to anyone.”
GLTC Durban’s Warren Newell says that an important aspect of this contract was the cleanliness requirement in Multilayer’s warehouses. “Because they deal with open boxes of textiles, engine pollution had to be reduced to the absolute minimum. We have been able to achieve this through Doosan’s Eco-friendly 3-tier engines, which conform to European emission standards and the installation of AZ purifiers which further eliminate diesel fumes,” says Newell.
He adds that this solution helped in changing Multilayer from an expensive gas fleet to the more economical fleet of Doosan diesel trucks.
A feature that has made Doosan lift trucks a popular choice across the globe is its 60-month, unlimited hours guarantee on its ‘brakes for life’ system. “This is unique in the industry,” says Newell.
Apart from Doosan, GLTC distributes Crown, the world leader in the manufacture of electric materials handling equipment, and Bendi, a revolutionary counterbalanced, articulating forklift, which can work in aisles as narrow as 1600 mm.
